As many as 60 heart patients were given pacemakers during the last three months, from July till September, while six further deserving patients were also provided pacemakers on behalf of the Patients Welfare Society. Medical Superintendent of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Dr Muhammad Javed said that, even now, four pacemakers were available with the Patients Welfare Society.
Dr Muhammad Javed stressed that there was no truth, whatsoever, in the reports that, instead of providing pacemakers to the patients at PIC, they were being referred to other hospitals.
