At least eleven people including political activists were killed in different areas of the city here on Wednesday, police and rescuers said. According to details, body of a man was found from a car at Hawks Bay road in the jurisdiction of Maripur police station. The deceased was identified as Walid, 35.
Police said that unknown armed men killed Walid with multiple gun shots after kidnapping him and later dumped his body at Haws Bay road. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. In another incident, a dacoit was killed during a robbery bid while his accomplice was injured in Baber Market in the limits of Landhi police station.
The dacoit was identified as Nadeem Baloch, 30, while injured was identified as Mahmood, 20. Police said that the dacoits tried to loot a shopkeeper in Baber Market but on resistance his pistol went off and hit him. As a result he died on the spot. The area people caught his accomplice and handed over to police after beating him severely. The body was shifted to JPMC for post mortem.
A man was gunned down in Azeempura area of Malir falling in the limits of Alfalah police station. He was identified as Akbar Ali, 35, son of Ghulam Ali. Police said the deceased was sitting at his shop when un known armed men riding motorbike emerge and opened indiscriminate fire on him as result he died on the spot. The accused managed to flee from the scene. The body was shifted to a local hospital for autopsy.
Separately, a man was shot dead near 5-Star Roundabout in North Nazimabad area in the limits of Taimoria police station. He was identified as Saleem, 30, son of Riasat. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. A local leader of Awami National Party (ANP) sustained injuries in an armed attack at Abul Hassan Isphani Road in the limits of Gulsha-e-Iqbal police station. The injured was identified as Shah Kalam Mehsud. He was moved to JPMC for treatment. A worker of MQM was also gunned down near Shaheen Hotel in the limits of Orangi Town police station. He was identified as Faisal Raza, resident of Orangi 11-1/2.
Meanwhile, bodies of two men were found near Pankha Hotel, Shershah area in the limits Shershah police station. The deceased were identified as Abdul Samad and Ali Mustafa. Police sources said that deceased were kidnapped by unknown accused from Kharadar area dumped their bodies near Pankha Hotel after killing them.
The bodies were brought to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. A police cop was gunned down by unknown armed men at Anda More in the limits of Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station. The deceased was identified as Murshid Alim, son of Mubashir. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident a man was gunned down at Abul Hassan Isphani road near Paradise Bakery in the limits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station. He was identified as Rafiq, resident of the same area. A man was gunned down while five other sustained injuries when an unknown armed men opened fire at a hotel in Bhimpura area in the limits of Napier police station.
The deceased was identified as Pervaiz, 28, while injured were identified as Mohammad Sohail, Karam Ali, Amir, Zubair and Atif. The body and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and treatment. A PPP worker was also gunned down in Raees Brohi colony, Orangi area in the limits of Iqbal Market police station. He was identified as Murshid, resident of the same area. Meanwhile a man was killed in Meranaka area in the limits of Shershah police station. He was identified as Wasif, 30, son of Misar. The body was shifted to CHK for autopsy.
