Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that cowardly attack on daughter of the nation Malala Yousafzai is highly reprehensible and condemnable. He was talking to newsmen on his return from his visit to Turkey, Britain and Germany at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, here on Wednesday.
The CM said the whole nation is grieved over the sad incident and is praying for the early recovery of Malala Yousafzai. "Thousands of boys and girls are getting education in Pakistan and they are the hope of the future, while attack on them is extremely regrettable," he added.
He also said the Punjab government is prepared to bear all expenditure on medical treatment of Malala Yousafzai, both inside and outside the country. He said those who fired upon Malala Yousafzai cannot be even called human being, what to talk of being Muslim.
Referring to his foreign visits, Shahbaz Sharif said his visit to Turkey, Britain and Germany was a thumping success and many new agreements in different development sectors were signed. He said during his visit to Turkey, he was warmly received and the love and affection shown to him is unforgettable. "During his visit to Turkey, negotiations took place regarding the pace of progress of ongoing development projects in collaboration of Turkey and Punjab, while new agreements for co-operation were also inked.
According to him, useful discussions were also held with energy sector companies of Turkey, Britain and Germany in order to combat energy crisis being faced by Pakistan. Britain is extending vigorous co-operation to Punjab for promotion of education, while further discussion took place to increase mutual co-operation to ensure provision of quality education in the province.
Germany has special expertise in solar energy technology; therefore a number of agreements of co-operation were signed between the Punjab government and German companies for transfer of solar technology. He said as a result of his successful visit to European countries, long-term positive impact would be created on the development of the province, while its fruit would also reach the people of Punjab.
