LAHORE: Caretaker Federal Commerce and Industry Minister Gohar Ijaz have said that the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is a huge organisation and thus it has to pay special attention to research so that more industries are established in the country.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman. A delegation of the FPCCI led by the Federal Commerce and Industry Minister, Federal Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar and Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister SM Tanveer called on the Governor. They were accompanied by FPCCI Regional Chairman and Vice President Zaki Ijaz, Vice President Asif Inam, Momin Ali Malik, Almas Haider, Mian Zahid Hussain and others.
Gohar further said that the promotion of industry and trade will pave the way for economic development in the country.
Speaking on this occasion, the Governor said that the FPCCI is the most important business organization, adding it plays an important role in the economic development of the country by promoting business activities. He averred that the doors of his office are always open for the business community.
“The development of industry and business in the country leads to socio-economic development. The caretaker government’s public welfare projects and measures for the promotion of trade are praiseworthy. Pakistan has vast opportunities for exports in agriculture, fisheries and other sectors. We have to pay special attention to our exports so that along with revenue, more business and employment opportunities could be generated in the country,” he said.
