A strong sense of insecurity prevails among the citizens, as the Capital police have completely failed to track down different robbers' gangs active in the Federal Capital and openly looting the people who draw cash from banks as well as enter houses in broad daylight.
The growing number of bank robberies is causing a strong sense of fear and insecurity among people doing various kinds of businesses. A number of gangs are openly committing robberies in various parts of the city. Majority of these robbers' gangs hits their targets after every ten days and in each case they rob million of rupees, police source said.
Source said that mostly robber gangs active in the city use cars and change their number plates after each crime, but most of the time, they use a green number plate to hit and run away without any resistance after the offence. They always hit in broad daylight, police sources said.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, various police stations in the city have registered 12 cases of robbery and eight cases of car lifting during the last week despite tall claim of police that they made strict security arrangements across the city.
During the last week the Industrial Area Police Station registered four cases of robbery and a case of car lifting, Shahzad Town police station registered two cases of robbery and a case of carjacking. Similarly, Margalla Police Station registered three cases of car lifting and case of robbery, Kohsar Police Station registered two cases of car lifting and Aapara Police Station registered one case each of robbery and car lifting during last week.
During the same period the Women Police stations of Ramana, Ternol, and Koral registered one case each of robbery. In the limits of Bara Khau Police Station police recovered the dead body of a child last week. Citizens while talking to Business Recorder said that the crime situation is worsening by each passing day due to poor planning and negligence of police. Due to rise in various kinds of crime they feel insecure even inside their homes. People said that street crimes not only take place in the dark and deserted streets, but also in broad daylight in busy markets and at different avenues of the city.
