President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) Muhammad Khan Saddozai hailed and endorsed the resolution of the Parliament on prices of petroleum products on monthly basis describing it a good step. In a statement issued here on Saturday, Saddozai said that Ministry of Petroleum should implement on this resolution without any delay.
He strongly criticised the frequent increase in prices of petroleum products which are causing immense misery and suffering to the common man, adversely affecting the industrial, agricultural and transport sectors and bringing the economy to the brink of collapse.
Muhammad Khan Saddozai said that elected representative have realised the miseries of common man and they resolved that these increases are not only unbearable, but price fluctuations are now taking place on a weekly basis, giving rise to uncertainty, artificial shortages and higher costs. He urged upon the government to immediately withdraw the decision to review prices on weekly basis and instead to put in place an open and transparent system for price fixation whereby prices are determined on monthly basis of data made freely available by Ogra.
