LAHORE: In a significant development for Pakistan’s petroleum sector, Tariq Wazir Ali, a prominent figure in the industry, has been appointed as the Convener/Chairman of the Central Standing Committee on the Oil Marketing Sector by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI).

Tariq, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP) and holds esteemed positions in the FPCCI, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and vowed to work diligently to fulfil expectations. He highlighted the importance of collaboration within the sector to achieve collective goals, underlining the principle of unity with the motto “One Team One Vision”.

Addressing critical issues such as sales tax, turnover tax, and regulatory concerns, Tariq emphasized the need for a proficient team to navigate challenges and drive positive outcomes. He also voiced optimism for enhanced investment opportunities in the sector under the new government and stressed the importance of equitable opportunities for emerging Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

Recognizing the petroleum sector’s vital role in the country’s economy, Tariq pledged to work closely with his team and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth progress towards shared objectives.

The appointment of Tariq Wazir Ali signifies a strategic move towards fostering collaboration and addressing challenges within Pakistan’s oil marketing sector, with a focus on promoting growth and sustainability.
