LAHORE: The Ambassador of Kuwait to Pakistan Nassar Abdulrahman J Almutairi met with the caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, here on Wednesday and discussed issues of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in various fields.

The Kuwaiti diplomat felicitated Mohsin Naqvi on his election as Chairman PCB and the holding of PSL-9. “We will further promote cooperation with Punjab in livestock and other sectors,” the Kuwaiti diplomat said, adding: “There exists a lot of potential to increase bilateral trade relations.”

The CM Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan and Kuwait have had brotherly relations for decades. Time has come to transform Pakistan-Kuwait relations into fruitful economic cooperation, as livestock is in high demand in Kuwait and bilateral cooperation in this sector needs to be promoted on a sustainable basis, he said.

The CM stated that six business facilitation centres have been built in Punjab in just 30 days and required NOCs are issued to investors within 15 days at these centres. He said that Kuwaiti investors should take advantage of investment opportunities in Punjab. Exchange of trade delegations can increase economic ties between the two countries, he said.

On the other hand, the up-gradation of Mayo Children’s Hospital has been completed in record time, showcasing exceptional speed and quality.

The hospital's bed capacity has been increased to 360 beds. The caretaker CM Naqvi, accompanied by children Masooma Fatima and Ibrahim suffering from kidney disorders, inaugurated the upgraded Mayo Children’s Hospital.

The CM inspected various wards of the state-of-the-art hospital and commended the high-quality work of the up-gradation.

The Secretary Communication and Works provided a briefing on the project, while the Secretary Health highlighted the improved treatment facilities.

The CM stated that the first phase of the up-gradation, totalling 360 beds, has been completed. The Mayo Children’s Hospital is part of the Mayo Hospital Up-gradation Plan, which has a total cost of Rs10 billion. It may be noted that Mayo Hospital currently has 2484 beds and 1763 doctors.

The CM Naqvi highlighted that the malfunctioning CT scan machine at Mayo Hospital, inactive since 2017, has been repaired and made functional.
