KARACHI: In a show of support and anticipation, the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President, Deputy Patron-in-Chief, Senior Vice President, Vice President and members of the Executive Council have extended their congratulations to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on assuming their respective roles in the newly elected government.
Expressing optimism, KATI leaders emphasized the pressing need for the government to prioritize and address Pakistan economic challenges promptly. The business community is hopeful that the new government will swiftly implement measures to alleviate the nation economic crisis.
Highlighting key concerns, the leaders underscored that the rising cost of production remains a critical issue for the industry. The recent hikes in electricity, gas, and energy prices have compounded challenges for industrialists, making it imperative for the government to take immediate action.
In addition, KATI leaders raised concerns about escalating port charges imposed by shipping companies, posing significant obstacles for exporters. Urging swift intervention, the KATI leadership called upon the government to engage in immediate consultations with industrialists and stakeholders. They stressed the importance of formulating a strategy to promptly address and resolve these pressing economic issues.
