Disabled persons have demanded of the government to take practical steps for resolution of their problems, called for provision of employment facility as per served quota for them at public sector institutions.
Speaking at a ceremony held under auspices of Special Persons Development Association (SPDA) in connection with International Special Persons Day here at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, the SPDA President Mahazullah said the government is not taking proactive measures for addressal of their issues despite raising issues again and again.
Flanked by General Secretary, Ihsanullah Daudzai, and others, he said the disabled persons are also part of this society, which can not be ignored. He said that society would not recognise them as perfect person, but they are capability to do everything with full determination and commitment.
"The special persons don't have care about the society thinking against them, but being a citizen of this country, we have equal right to get all those facilities and incentives available for other people in the society, he maintained. Explaining the objectives of the association, he said that the platform has been created to highlight the issues being facing by disabled persons in the society. He further added that the provision of their rights, giving due status in the society and equal incentives were the main objectives of the organisation.
He said the disabled persons are properly contributing their share in development and progress by serving different private and public sector institutions in the country. He further said that they are also doing all those works and things which perhaps not possible for them. Expressing dissatisfaction over the facilities at public places and transports, he said they are not providing due rights and facilities which is creating many problems for them.
