A team of CPLC-AVCU in a joint operation recovered a kidnapped eighty years old businessman from Javed Bahria Town Housing Society near Hawks-bay in early hours on Tuesday. According to the details, Malik Zain-ul-Abideen a reputed businessman from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, residing in Karachi, was kidnapped by unknown persons, plying in a white Toyota Corolla Car Registration No AMB-901, 13th August 2012 from the jurisdiction of Boat Basin Police Station, while he was returning home after offering Tarawe prayers in the holy month of Ramzan.
Malik Zain-ul-Abideen is a big Oil Contractor of the country as well as owner of several petrol pumps located in all over the country. His son Malik Imran is a former MPA of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who was defeated by Salim Saifullah in Peshawar during last general elections held in 2008.
Zain-ul-Abideen belongs to a very influential family of Peshawar, KPK and after his kidnapping his family immediately contacted CPLC and AVCU for assistance. The joint team of CPLC and AVCU started the investigation of the case, initially ransom demand was Rs 200 million, which was brought down to Rs 40 million after hectic negotiations with kidnappers. Meanwhile, CPLC-AVCU team geared-up their investigation particularly since last week they confined attention on an information, which led to presence of kidnappers in the west part of Karachi.
Finally in the early hours of 16th October 2012, joint team of CPLC-AVCU, headed by Ahmed Chinoy Chief CPLC-Sindh raided a Bungalow No 31 Street No 1 Javed Bahria Town Housing Society near Hawks-Bay, sensing the arrival of police party, kidnappers started indiscriminate firing and in response raiding party retaliated bravely. After a breathtaking encounter, team safely recovered the hostage Malik Zain-ul-Abideen from the clutches of kidnappers.
During the encounter two policemen, who suffered injuries, were immediately shifted to nearby hospital while three kidnappers (their identification still not known) got killed their three or four accomplices managed to escape by taking advantage of darkness. Two Kalashnikovs, TT. Pistols and other ammunition were also recovered from the place. The empty bottles of Liquor were also found.
Later, the injured policemen were discharge from the hospital after giving necessary treatment. Malik Zain-ul-Abideen was found in good health and bad informed that he only took juices to keep him alive. He also stated that he is a Diabetic, Heart and Blood Pressure patient but the Almighty Allah kept him alive without any medicine for over two months.
It is pertinent to mention here that this is another big achievement of CPLC-AVCU team in which they busted a gang of kidnappers, which mostly targeted high profile people. The Governor Sindh in a statement appreciated the efforts of Chief CPLC Sindh Ahmed Chinoy and joint team of CPLC-AVCU and paid great tribute to their bravery and commitment. The I.G. Sindh has also promised to give rewards and gallantry certificates to the raiding party.-PR
