Federal Minister for Political Affairs Senator Moula Bux Chandio has directed all executing authorities to submit the complete list of development schemes pertaining to the development of Qasimabad and its adjacent areas within one week and ensure that work on these schemes should be started within one month.
This he directed while presiding over a meeting regarding resolving the bottlenecks/issues of the development schemes at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building Hyderabad here on Tuesday. The Provincial Secretary Works and Services Kazi Shahid Parwaiz, Commissioner Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo, General Secretary PPP District Hyderabad Syed Fayaz Shah, PPP Leader Ali Mohammad Sehto and other officers from Works & Services Department, HDA, HDP and District Administration attended the meeting.
Addressing the meting, Moula Bux Chandio said that there were many localities of Hyderabad that have been ignored in development schemes since long, which includes, Tando Tayyab, Talab No 3, Tando Agha, Village Allahdad Chand, Tando Mir Mohammad, Khahi Road, Tando Wali Mohammad, etc where according to him, condition of roads and drainage system was in deteriorated condition. He directed the officers to prepare feasibility reports of the drainage and roads in such a way so that drainage lines are laid down prior to construction of roads. The Federal Minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari was taking keen interest in the Development of Qasimabad to bring it at the par of other developed/modern areas.
While deliberating about the De-Congestion of traffic hazard at Poonam Chowk Qasimabad and having wide space for entrance into Qasimabad, three different options were presented by Provincial Secretary Works and Services Kazi Shahid Perwaiz in the meeting which include 1st to curtail the pillars of southern ramp flyover up to the level to fall it before the entrance of Qasimabad. 2nd, that to jack-up the southern ramp of fly over and fall it away from the entrance of Qasimabad and 3rd, that if the any manipulation or alteration in bridge was harm full, then the solution of the problem be made through Traffic Engineering and widening the side line roads.
The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo while briefing about the Under Pass scheme informed the meeting, that this scheme of underpass was sponsored and floated by MNA Syed Ameer Ali Shah Jamote from his discretionary fund of Rs 150 million 3 years ago. He said that various meetings have been made to discuss its feasibility since three years and even decisions about implementation on the decided feasibility were made but same were rejected later on due to some new reservations. He said that the Administration was ready to implement the scheme subject to it be unanimously decided once for all.
During the discussion, the engineers floated their different proposals, which include resolving traffic problem at Nasim Nagar bridge through underpass or traffic engineering. The meeting differed its decision till one week for further meaning full guideline from experts.
