ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday filed an acquittal application before the Accountability Court in Toshakhana case against him, President Asif Ali Zardari, Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, and others.
The Accountability Court judge, Nasir Javed Rana, issued notices to parties concerned on Sharif’s plea seeking acquittal in the Toshakhana case and sought arguments during the next hearing to be held on May 23.
Sharif filed the plea through his counsel and his pleader, Rana Muhammad Irfan appeared before the court. Among those accused in the case are President Zardari, who has presidential immunity now, and Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani.
