KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 132,677 tonnes of cargo comprising 54,210 tonnes of import cargo and 78,467 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hour ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 54,210 comprised of 54,210 tonnes of Containerized Cargo.
The total export Cargo of 78,467 comprised of 60,681 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 120 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 11,166 tonnes of Clinkers & 6,500 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.
Nearly, 8638 containers comprising of 4048 containers import and 4590 containers export were handled on Tuesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1033 of 20’s and 1227 of 40’s loaded while 29 of 20’s and 266 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1546 of 20’s and 800 of 40’s loaded containers while 326 of 20’s and 559 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Approximately, 03 ships namely, Apl Phoenix, Onur GA, Sm Tianjin & Aljalaa berthed at the Karachi Port Trust.
About, 09 ships namely, Arman 10, Seamax Westport, Akij Star, Tsingtao, Xin Hai Tong 50, Ionic Artemis & X-Press Kaveri Sailed from the Karachi Port Trust.
PORT QASIM
A total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them three ships, Majestic Noor, African Loon and Gaslog Geneva left the port on today morning. Meanwhile three more ships, MSC Archimidis, Clyde 4 and White Peach are expected to sail on Tuesday afternoon.
Cargo volume of 171,231 tonnes, comprising 127,174 tonnes imports cargo and 44,057 tonnes export cargo carried in 2,810 Containers (1,240 TEUs Imports and 1,570 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 03 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them three ships, MH Sandef Jord, Ionic Artemis and Maersk Yorkton & another ship, Wide Alpha scheduled to load/offload Rice, Mogas and Container are expected to take berths at MW-1, FOTCO and QICT on today 07 May, while two more container ships, Maersk Cape Town and MSC Roma are due arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, 08th May, 2024.
