A judicial magistrate of the Cantt Courts on Thursday sent Punjab Chief Minister's son-in-law Ali Imran, involved in Bakery employee torture case, on a 14-day judicial remand. The court issuing a notice to SHO concerned adjourned the hearing of Ali Imran's bail application till October 19.
Judicial magistrate Sikander Javed was hearing the matter. Ali Imran was arrested by Defence-B Police under section 109 PPC when he came to police station to join the investigation in Bakery employee torture case on Wednesday. On Thursday, the police produced him before the court and sought physical remand. However, Ali Imran's counsel also moved a bail application for his release. But, the court after hearing the arguments sent the accused on a 14-day judicial remand and issued notice to SHO on his bail application.
Defence-B police had registered a case on complaint by Umar Hussain, the owner of bakery, under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) sections 148, 149 and 506. The bakery owner stated that a woman, said to be daughter of Punjab Chief Minister and wife of Ali Imran, came to the bakery and asked for a cake on October 7. However, employees refused to entertain her saying that shop was closed for cleaning and asked her to visit later. Upon it, her two guards maltreated one of his employees Irfan and hurled life threats.
Later, the guards visited the bakery along with another person, identified the worker and escorted him outside the shop. Around six to seven Elite Force officials were already present there who started thrashing Irfan and threatened him of dire consequences. It is pertinent to mention that seven Elite Force officials and a body guard of Ali Imran, involved in bakery torture case, got bail on Wednesday.
