Reserved appeals/applications: ATIR chairman directs judicial members to write judgments
ISLAMABAD: The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) chairman has directed judicial members, whose tenure will expire in June 2024, to write judgments in the already reserved appeals/applications and pass orders before the close of their terms.
The ATIR chairman has also directed judicial members, whose term would be completed in June 2024, to stop conducting hearings of cases from May 20, 2024.
In this regard, the ATIR Islamabad has issued instructions to judicial members of the ATIR, Lahore.
According to the directive of the ATIR, Islamabad, I am directed to convey the following directions of the Chairman ATIR:
(a) Considering the number of appeals/applications already heard and reserved for judgement to be decided by benches consisting of the Judicial Members who are going to complete their term inoffice in this tribunal in the first week of June 2024, the following Benches i.e. DB-I, DB-II, DB-V, DB-VII and DB-VIII will not conducthearings w.e.f. May 20, 2024, till further orders;
(b) Members (concerned) are requested to author/write the judgments in the already reserved appeals/applications and ensurethat the orders are passed before the close of their term in office at ATIR, Lahore;
(c) The learned Member (Roster) and the Assistant Registrar (Roster) at ATIR, Lahore may ensure compliance to the above directions, the instructions added.
