Al-Qadir Trust case: AC adjourns hearing till 17th due to security concerns
ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court hearing the £190 million National Crime Agency (NCA) scam commonly known as the Al-Qadir Trust case on Wednesday accepted Adiala jail authorities’ plea to adjourn the hearing of the case without proceedings due to security concerns.
Accountability Court judge Nasir Javed Rana adjourned the hearing of the Al-Qadir Trust case hearing till May 17 after approving the Adiala jail superintendent’s plea seeking adjournment of the case due to security issues.
The Adialajail authorities stated in their application that Adiala Jail was the most sensitive jail in the province where important political figures were imprisoned.
The Accountability Court has scheduled a hearing against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi today (Wednesday) in Adiala Jail.
It is, therefore, requested that the hearing be adjourned, it said.
The petition further said, the jail authorities said according to reports received from the Punjab government, there were security threats to Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, and Attock jails.
The court, accepting the request of prison authorities, adjourned the hearing of the case till May 17 without proceedings.
