ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that a cabinet committee to be headed by the Minister for Planning and Development should be formed regarding the development budget and the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
The prime minister directed this while presiding over a meeting on the affairs of Ministry of Planning and Public Private Partnership Authority on Wednesday.
He directed that the committee would submit short-, medium- and long-term proposals with respect to PSDP besides directing all the federal ministries to submit their proposals regarding public-private partnership projects.

The premier directed that the projects aimed to bring about sustainable development in the country should be included in the PSDP. He said that funds would be available for development projects by increasing in revenue collection. He directed third-party validation of all the big development projects should be done.
The prime minister directed to improve coordination and linkages between the federal and provincial governments regarding the PSDP programs and the annual development programs of the provinces.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Jehanzeb Khan, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal, and relevant officials.
