LAHORE: Over Rs400 billion has been collected so far in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa collectively since the introduction of the e-stamping system.

This emerged during a progress review meeting presided over by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf here on Friday. PITB Director General (DG) e-Governance Sajid Latif and other officials were also present in the meeting.

The meeting was told that under the online system, developed by the PITB in collaboration with the Board of Revenue (BoR) for the convenience of citizens, to date, the citizens have paid more than 28.4million challans while 19.3million stamp papers have been issued so far with more than Rs371.2 billion collected from Punjab, over 27.1 billion rupees from Sindh and more than Rs1.75 billion from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On this occasion, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said that the e-stamping system has completely replaced the traditional system by digitizing the issuance of stamp papers, increasing revenue and transparency while eliminating fraud, financial theft and forgery.
