Given the quantum of uncut gems that Pakistan produces, it is surprising that a gem cutting industry has not developed. Gem cutting requires minimum investment and is labor intensive.

We could request the Thai Embassy to help find some Thai Lady gem cutters to train our ladies in the Northern Areas in gem cutting. This business has the potential to become a major industry.
