A six-member delegation comprising Board of Directors of Asian Development Bank (ADB), led by Maurin Sitours, called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that ADB had been a very reliable partner of Pakistan and the country greatly values the co-operation extended by it. "It is my earnest desire that we should concentrate on a few strategic projects so that they can be completed in time and yield results," the Prime Minister added.
Leader of the ADB delegation, Maurin Sitours, informed the Prime Minister that they had useful discussions with Pakistan's financial team. Sitours also said that he would convey to the President of ADB Pakistan's interest in Diamer-Basha Dam. The Prime Minister said that the dam would not only provide additional water storage capacity, but also produce cheap electricity. Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Federal Minister/Chairperson BISP Farzana Raja and senior officials were also present in the meeting.-PR
