ISLAMABAD: As the federal budget is drawing near, the economic czar of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Muhammad Aurangzeb Khan on Thursday called on the acting president Yousaf Raza Gilani and briefed him about the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24.
During his conversation with the minister, Gilani stressed the need for extending maximum relief to the masses in the forthcoming budget and formulation of a detailed strategy to enhance the revenue.
The minister briefed the acting president about the ongoing preparations for the upcoming people-friendly budget and the government’s measures to reduce inflation.
Khan said that a remarkable reduction in the inflation rate manifested the government’s constant and undeterred actions.
