Sindh Chief Secretary, Raja Mohammad Abbas directed all commissioners, metropolitan administrators and other relevant officials including deputy commissioners to keep strict vigil on the cattle markets raised to meet public needs on eve of fast approaching eid-e-qurban.
He in his directives issued on Sunday asked the officials to be extremely cautious towards regular water supply to these markets besides ensuring that feed needs of the cattle is duly met.
This essential care of cattle meant to meet our religious obligations, he said, is incumbent upon all Muslims.
The Chief Secretary said reports received from different mandis that cattle traders due to their limitations or otherwise are unable to take due care for the feed and water needs of the animal meant to be sacrificed has to be countered with due sensitivities. Any callousness on the part of traders can hold its bearing on the purchaser of the sacrificial animal as there is every chance of serous risk to their survival, said Raja Mohammad Abbas.
