Malala Yousufzai was targeted by paid thugs of the US to sabotage protests against blasphemous acts, while the local puppets of foreigner powers were attempting to threaten religious clerics and scholars that wouldn't be tolerated any more.
These views were expressed by religious leaders at an Ulema convention here on Sunday. The convention was organised by Jamiat Ittehad-e-Ulema (JIU) at Idara Noor-e-Haq.
The conference also passed a resolution, condemning the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) step to compile the particulars of religious clerics. Renowned religious scholar Maulana Abdul Malik said that Ulema were peace loving people and their struggle was for a peaceful revolution in the country.
He was of the view that Malala was targeted to press the ongoing protests against blasphemy. He further said that those shedding crocodile's tears were in fact attempting to cover the bloodshed in Karachi.
JIU Sindh President Maulana Abdul Rauf condemned the act of pressing Ulema in the name of Malala incident and warned MQM to refrain from pointing fingers at Ulema to appease its western bosses.
JI Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mehnati said that a so-called political segment, at the behest of its foreigner bosses, were attempting to convert the country into a secular state.
He said that attack on Malala was extremely condemnable, however some vested elements, taking advantage of the incident, were hell bent on achieving their nefarious goals.
Qari Sher Afzal of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam said that the rulers and generals were responsible for the grievances the country was facing.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) President Qazi Ahmed Noorani said that an attempt was being made to establish another state within the state. He said that those pressing the voice of religious clerics were indeed the agents of foreigner powers. He vowed that the Ulema would never let any "terrorist elements" to compile the particulars of religious clerics. Besides religious leaders, a large number of clerics attended the event from across the city.
