As everyone returns from summer breaks and adjusts to regular programming, there are a slew of new and returning shows to indulge in.
‘Emily in Paris’ is set to debut its new season on Netflix, while Jeff Goldblum will appear in a new series. Pakistan’s very own first hand-drawn animated feature, ‘The Glassworker’, is also currently playing in theatres across Pakistan.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: theatres across Pakistan
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman star in this joint blockbuster movie as two superheroes – Deadpool and Wolverine – join forces to fight evil.
The film already smashed weekend records in the US and was cleared for viewing in Pakistan.
The movie is now playing in theatres across Pakistan.
‘Emily in Paris’ - Season 4: Netflix
Starring Lily Collins, ‘Emily in Paris’ follows Emily Cooper as she navigates her new life moves to Paris for a new opportunity. By season four though, she’s now established in her Parisian life, though admittedly adjusting to its challenges.
The new season offers plenty of drama, along with stunning sights of Paris, for those looking to relish the high of the Paris Olympics.
The new season is set to debut on August 15.
‘Monsieur Spade’: Netflix
Starring Clive Owen as the legendary fictional detective Sam Spade, this AMC drama follows the American private eye years after the events of classic ‘The Maltese Falcon.’
Spade has settled into a quiet life in the French countryside, however, it turns out the quiet little town of Bozouls is anything but. There’s murder, there’s intrigue, there’s witty, biting dialogue — it’s everything you could want from a detective show.
The show debuts on Netflix from August 19.
‘KAOS’: Netflix
Jeff Goldblum stars in this mythological dark-comedy series that revolves around three humans.
An all-powerful god, yet insecure, Zeus started to fear his end of reign once and becomes paranoid and vengeful towards his lieges.
Later, three people connected with the ancient prophecy possibly related to his end of reign begin to discover their connections with each other and grand conspiracies involving the Greek gods.
The new series is set to debut on August 29.
‘The Glassworker’: theatres across Pakistan
Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated feature by Mano Animation Studios was directed by Usman Riaz and tells the story of a young glassblower and his relationships over the years, as his land goes through war and strife.
A clip of the film also screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, as well as the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France in 2022.
The film is now playing in theatres across Pakistan, in both English and Urdu.

‘Borderlands’: Theatres across Pakistan
Based on the best-selling videogame, this all-star action-adventure follows a ragtag team of misfits on a mission to save a missing girl who holds the key to unimaginable power.
It also features a spectacular ensemble cast featuring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jack Black.
It will debut in theatres across Pakistan on August 9.
‘Land of Women’: Apple TV+
Eva Longoria returns to the small screen as a New York City socialite on the run in a quaint Spanish town along with her mother and daughter.
Along the way, she discovers plenty family secrets and runs from imminent danger all while finding love again in a charming winery owner.
