LAHORE: The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) on Tuesday increased the spot rate by Rs 2,00 per maund and closed it at Rs 17,200 per maund.

Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that scattered rain all around the cotton areas interrupted picking and ginning operation temporarily. The rains will surely have a negative impact on quality if not on quantity.

He also told that the local cotton market remained firm and the trading volume remained satisfactory. The rate of new cotton in Sindh is in between Rs 16,900 to Rs 17,200 per maund. The rate of Phutti in Sindh is in between Rs 6,800 to Rs 7,700 per 40 kg.

The rate of cotton in Punjab is in between Rs 17,500 to Rs 17,700 per maund. The rate of Phutti in Punjab is in between Rs 7,200 to Rs 8,200 per 40 kg.

The rate of cotton in Balochistan is in between Rs 17,500 to Rs 17,700 per maund. The rate of Phutti in Balochistan is in between Rs 7,200 to Rs 8,200 per 40 kg.

Around, 1600 bales of Tando Adam, 1000 bales of Shahdad Pur, 1000 bales of Sanghar were sold at Rs 16,900 to Rs 17,000 per maund, 800 bales of Mir Pur Khas were sold in between Rs 16,800 to Rs 17,000 per maund, 400 bales of Nawab Shah, 200 bales of Jhole, 800 bales of Hyderabad, 400 bales of Kotri, 1000 bales of Shah Pur Chakar, 400 bales of Jam Sahab were sold at Rs 17,000 per maund, 400 bales of Layyah, 200 bales of Jhang, 200 bales of Samundri, 200 bales of Mureed Wala , 200 bales of Pir Mahal, 200 bales of Gojra, 600 bales of Khanewal, 400 bales of Vehari, 200 bales of Haroonabad, 200 bales of Lodhran, 200 bales of Shujabad, 200 bales of Khan Pur and 200 bales of Rahim Yar Khan were sold at Rs 17,500 per maund, 1400 bales of Chichawatni were sold at Rs 17,500 to Rs 17,700 per maund, 400 bales of Mian Channu were sold in between Rs 17,500 to Rs 17,600 per maund and 400 bales of Hasil Pur were sold at Rs 17,400 to Rs 17,500 per maund.

The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association increased the spot rate by Rs 2,00 per maund and closed it at Rs 17,200 per maund.. Polyester Fiber was available at Rs 380 per kg.
