ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, on Tuesday, expressed serious concerns over the actions and statements of the PTI founder, Imran Khan, labelling him as a “threat to national security”.
Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, Tarar criticised the PTI founder’s recent actions and rhetoric, which he believes “undermine the country’s stability and safety”.
Tarar highlighted that the PTI founder’s stance on neutrality has been inconsistent, accusing him of calling for negotiations while previously dismissing neutrality as a sign of weakness. “He once mocked neutrality, saying it is a trait of animals, but now he’s pleading for talks,” Tarar stated.
The minister condemned the PTI founder for inciting attacks, including the events of May 9, where memorials to martyrs were desecrated. “Your crimes are extensive, posing a threat to national security institutions and the country,” he asserted. Tarar also pointed out the presence of the PTI founder’s supporters, including women, during the incident at the Corps Commander’s House.
He accused the PTI of spreading false narratives and misleading the public. “You fabricate lies and deceive the people, sometimes adopting an aggressive stance and at other times pleading for mercy,” Tarar claimed, emphasising that there will be no compromise on national security.
