PESHAWAR: Eleven members of the same family drowned as rain water flooded the basement of their house at Old Bazid Khel, Dara Adam Khel in district Kohat; said Rescue 1122 on Tuesday.
It said that rain water entered the basement of a house wherein 11 members of the family drowned. The teams of the Rescue 1122 Kohat during the search operation have recovered 11 bodies and shifted them to hospital. However, search for a five year old child was continued. The victims were included women and children.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the losses of 13 precious lives in heavy rains and storm related incidents in the province. He has expressed his heartiest sympathies and condolence with the affected families and prayed for eternal peace of the deceased and fortitude to the bereaved families. He has also expressed good wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured in the rain and storm related incidents.
The chief minister has also announced financial assistance for the affected families and directed Relief Department and concerned district administration for initiating necessary actions for providing them timely assistance.
