LAHORE: As many as 39 people were killed and 113 were injured due to the rains in the month of July while 6 people were killed and 6 injured due to rains in the last 24 hours.

According to the report issued by the PDMA, 61 houses were damaged and 39 animals were also killed in the rainy season.

DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said that as per instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, financial assistance will be ensured to the bereaved families. Due to the collapse of dilapidated and dilapidated buildings, there was loss of life and property. Citizens are requested to stay away from old and dilapidated buildings. Avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather conditions, he said.

As per report, from July 30 to August 4, moderate to high flood conditions may occur at Mangla in Jhelum River. Flood situation may also occur at Marala, Khanki and Kadirabad in Chenab River.

There is a possibility of low to medium level flooding in the Indus River at Tarbela and in the hills. Monsoon rains are expected across Punjab in the next 24 hours. The spell of monsoon rains is likely to continue till August 4. During urban rainy season, take precautionary measures and follow government guidelines, the report adds.
