Former Pakistan captain and coach Waqar Younis is set to return to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as an advisor to the chairman on cricket affairs.
Waqar, who previously worked as a bowling coach under Misbah-ul-Haq’s regime post-World Cup 2019, will formally take up his responsibilities during the upcoming home series against Bangladesh.
The former fast bowler met the PCB chairman on Monday to finalise the matters.

He will be involved in consultations with the selectors and head coach to finalize the national Test team squad. The final selection will then be submitted to the PCB Chairman for approval.
Waqar has previously served as the national team’s bowling coach twice and as head coach once. However, this will be the first time he has taken on an advisory role.
