ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police have issued over 100,000 fines to motorcyclists for riding without helmets this year.
According to the police official, the police are striving to set a high standard for traffic management in the city, targeting negligent behaviour on the roads.
As part of a comprehensive campaign initiated under the direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, efforts are being made to raise public awareness about traffic regulations.
All officers have been instructed to enforce these rules strictly and uniformly, regardless of an individual's status or rank, while maintaining a courteous and patient demeanor when issuing fines.
The police department emphasised that the enforcement of traffic laws is aimed not as a punitive action but as a measure to ensure a safe road environment for all citizens.
