KARACHI: K-Electric (KE) has removed more than 130 kunda-based illegal connections along with 189 kg kunda wires in New Karachi’s areas of Zarina Colony, Rasheedabad, and Sector 2.

Such drives are being conducted by KE teams on a regular basis to reduce the loss of electricity due to theft and create a safer community for residents by removing hazards.

KE continues to act against electricity theft and supports customers in acquiring metered connections. Reducing theft of electricity and regular, timely payment of bills are imperative for the provision of uninterrupted electricity. The company extends its fullest support to customers, area representatives and elected officials who share a vision to promote a culture of safety and discouraging electricity theft.

All Docoits have been posted in key post in the KE, NEPRA and Ministries and they charge at their own will. I am a victim and have been fighting to get refunds but nobody listens. Whenever I consume a single unit over 200 units, the KE bills for charges on the basis of 300 units. They say that it is per SRO that have introduced and accordingly it will continue to charge the same for next periods for 300 unit basis despite I consume below 200 units. This is totally unfair and I am entitled for all the refunds that the KE has recovered from me the last many months/years. Kindly support many aggrieved çonsumers

KE and other DISCOs can easily pinpoint areas where electricity is stolen . The rangers an army should be called in, a curfew imposed, all kundas removed an the individuals arrested an fined .
