A three-day handicraft exhibition held to promote household women handmade skilled products and to develop their market linkages. The women business development event was organised by blinks, a beautician house here at local school in Gulhabar. More then 14 stalls were set-up during the three-day exhibition, comprising on stitching and unstitching cloths, bed sheets, blankets, jewellery, bangles, and other women stuffs.
The exhibition formally inaugurated by Senator Farhat Abbass in a very modest ceremony. She visited different stalls and appreciated the work of skilled women entrepreneurs. Farhat Abbass also lauded the efforts of blinks for arranging the event, expressed the hope that the event could be helpful for development of linkages and easy market access to their skilled products.
Naeema Tanveer, an emerging household women worker, started her business in a very small scale, has expressed her optimism to promote her skilled products in benefiting manner by developing market linkages in this business development opportunity. The organizer, Rabia Saleem while explaining the idea behind this women business development activity, she said that the ultimate objective was to promote manufacturing products of household skilled women and to develop their market linkages. "Women ought to come to businesses field, but the in conservative society and domestic hurdles, most of them, can't do", she viewed.
