Entrepreneurship Week jointly organised by the Lahore College Women University (LCWU) and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) concluded here on Tuesday. Speaking to the concluding ceremony, SMEDA Chief Executive Officer Yousaf Naseem Khokhar advised the students to opt for entrepreneurship rather than rushing into job market.
He urged the youth to accept challenge of doing own business to expand SME base of the country, which is dire need of the national economy and assured continuous support of SMEDA towards youth entrepreneurship and distributed cash awards to the winners of the arts exhibition, debates competition and business ideas competition held in connection with the "Entrepreneurship Week".
Rabia Ashraf, Sehrish Rani and Maha Anjum won award for English debate, Urdu debate and Artistic Depiction of Women Entrepreneurship, respectively. The group presentation on wood craft stood first in the business idea competition and was awarded a special cash prize of Rs 20, 000. The university Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sabiha Mansoor also spoke on the occasion.
