A policeman on Friday killed father of three children over his refusal of giving Eidi after purchase of sacrificial animal in the limits of Sohrab Goth Industrial Area check-post. According to details, policemen intercepted a vehicle carrying animal near the turn of Noor Khan Goth and asked Rs 100 Eidi from the owner of the sacrificial animal, Dilawar Khan. Upon this, he refused to give the same and directed the driver to park the vehicle at roadside for negotiation.
However, the policeman opened fire when the driver tried to get escaped from the scene. Resultantly, the younger brother of Dilwar, Zaib-ur-Rehman, sustained bullet wounds in his head and succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. The accused policeman managed to flee from the scene.
Thereafter, the heirs and relatives of the victim gathered at Sohrab Goth police station and staged protest over the incident. Meanwhile, high police officials including SP Gadap Jan Muhammad, DSP Iftikhar Lodhi and others rushed to the side and directed the officials to register a case against the cop.
