Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo has directed the officers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) and HDP Hyderabad to prepare the PC-I for redesigning and rehabilitation of existing facilities of water supply, drainage system of village Tando Hyder as per demand of present population of the village.
He said that since the population of Tando Hyder is increased 2 to 3 times as compared to the year when these facilities were provided to the inhabitant as such it needs to be re-designed and rehabilitated with more capacity to meet the demand of present population.
This he directed while visiting the village Tando Hyder where he came to evaluate and ascertain the existing schemes for repair and rehabilitation of different facilities including Public Health Engineering, health and education sector being run under the supervision of Village Development Association (VDA) village Tando Hyder on Wednesday. The Administrator Hyderabad Metropolitan Corporation Barkat Rizvi, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Hyderabad Aijaz-ul-Hassan, engineers from Public Health Engineering, HDP and officers from local government were accompanied the Commissioner during the visit.
The Pattern-in-Chief VDA Tando Hyder Haji Ghulam Nabi Kori and Abdul Hakeem Khoso, opinion leader of the area briefed the Commissioner about existing water supply, drainage and academic facilities and related problems being faced by inhabitants. He directed the engineers of PHED to prepare PC-I for redesign water supply for all inhabitants and submit to HDP within two weeks. He said that capacity of existing ponds be increased 100 percent and old lines of water supply be replaced by new lines. He also directed the officers of local government to prepare the scheme for redesigning and efficient drainage system and added that same would be got implemented from public representative priority schemes.
The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad also took serious notice of abandoned scheme of Girls High School Tando Hyder and asked the ADC-I Hyderabad Aijaz-ul-Hassan to get the hurdle of litigation case resolved on priority basis so that work of the school could be re-started. He also directed local administration to protect the government land by erecting boundary wall or fencing the same. He also took round of the village and visited ponds of water supply, sewerage pumping house, abandon work of Girls High School, deteriorated condition of Girls & Boys Primary Schools and directed the officers to prepare their schemes for repair & renovation of Primary Schools' buildings and also other schemes with integrated planning within shortest possible time probably in two weeks.
While talking the officers and workers of VDA, Ahmed Bux Narejo has said that present government has planned to strengthen and encourage the Village Development Associations (VDAs) to ensure the development of the rural areas and bring them at the par of urban areas under the participatory approach. He asked them to give proper ownership to the government schemes in their areas. He said that since they were the main stakeholder and beneficiary as such they must take care of these schemes and evolve watch and ward system for the protection of these installations. He assured them that his administration would provide full co-operation and necessary help to make these schemes more success.
