ISLAMABAD: A high-level defence delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Deputy Minister of Defence and Director General Agil Gurbanov, along with Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, Deputy Minister of Defence and Commander of the Azerbaijan Air Force, met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.

During the meeting, the air chief highlighted Pakistan Air Force’s recent achievements, reflecting its commitment to operational excellence in contemporary warfare. He emphasised the importance of further strengthening ties between the two nations’ armed forces, with a special focus on operational and training cooperation. Notably, a significant contingent of Azeri air and ground crew is currently undergoing training at a PAF operational base, with over 50 per cent of the objectives already achieved. The programme is set to conclude within a month, underscoring PAF’s dedication to enhancing the Azerbaijan Air Force’s operational readiness.
