RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), hearing the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case, on Tuesday, rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan and other leaders’ pleas seeking provision of CCTV footages of May 9 violence.

ATC judge Amjad Ali Shah, while announcing its reserved judgment, rejected Khan’s, PTI senior leader Omar Ayub Khan as well as former minister Fawad Chaudhry’s petitions seeking provision of the CCTV footage of the May 9 violence.

The court earlier after hearing arguments of defence and prosecution reserved its verdict.

Meanwhile, the court indicted another accused former MNA Bilal Ahmed in the same case. The court framed the charge against Bilal through his pleader. Former MPA Lastaib Satti filed an application before the court seeking permission to go abroad to perform Umrah. The court rejected Satti’s petition due to non-provision of necessary documents.

The court adjourned hearing of the case till January 6. The court has so far indicted 114 accused out of a total of 119 accused including Khan, PTI’s vice chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Shibli Faraz, Kanwal Shauzab, Usman Dar, Sheikh Rashid Shafiqu, Musarat Jamsheed Cheema, and Sadaqat Abbasi in the GHQ attack case.
