Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority has been established at Lahore to implement testing regime in the province. It will Control adulteration and contamination in food drugs, fertilizer and pesticides etc.
Government of the Punjab has allocated more than 5 billion rupees for the laboratory equipment of PAFDA and positions for all its human resource are also approved. The authority will be fully operational by June, 2025.
Revamping of Bomb Disposal Service
Bomb Disposal Vehicles has been provided at all districts of the Punjab through the schemes of Revamping of Bomb Disposal Service. A scheme “Capacity Building and Modernization of Bomb Disposal Squad of Civil Defence, Punjab” is being executed for capacity building of staff of Civil Defence, Punjab through domestic & foreign training and modernization of Bomb Disposal Squads through provision of latest IT related EOD equipment.
Expansion of Child Protection And Welfare Bureau Punjab
The Women and Child Safety is Chief Minister Punjab’s utmost priority. Keeping in view the need of the hour, CPWB outreach is being extended from six districts to all Punjab. Now Child Protection Institutions and Units are fully operational at 11 Districts whereas construction of 2 Child Protection Institutions and 21 Child Protection Units is completed.
FATF Action Plan
The home department ensured successful completion of FATF action plan enabling Pakistan out of FATF Grey List after substantial contribution from Punjab. The department established the Punjab Charities Commission for this purpose. It ensured effective monitoring and management of taken over properties of proscribed organizations through Management Board and also implemented the UN Sanction Regimes on targeted financial sanctions.
Establishment of Inter-Provincial Joint Check Posts (IPJCPs)
The home department is working on the establishment of 14 Joint Check Posts (JCPs) at the cost of Rs. 3,927 million for beefing up the same with required gadgetry and human resource comprising of different departments to prevent inter-provincial smuggling and movement of the hardened criminals. These joint check posts are operational and all the required gadgets and infrastructure is being provided.
Strengthening of Border Military Police and Baloch Levy DG Khan and Rajanpur
The home department worked on the up-gradation plan of the posts of Border Military Police (BMP) and Baloch Levy (BL) to bring them at par with Punjab Police. The department is providing funds and all out support for the purchase of arms and ammunition, hiring and training of the BMP and BL. The department is working on community policing model. The typical terrain, culture and history requires its continuation to effectively handle the unique security challenges of the area that include provincial Tri-Borders with Baluchistan, Sindh and KP.
Training of Iraqi Police Officers in Elite Police Training School
A group of 210 Iraqi Police officers were trained in the Elite Training School for specialized training. This initiative will not only enhance the reputation of Punjab Police as a training institution of international repute but also positively project the Government of Punjab’s image in the global arena.
Illegal Foreigners Repatriation (IFN)
The home department Punjab devised the Provincial Plan for repatriation of Illegal foreigners residing in the province. Repatriation of IFNs was done through coordination with all stakeholders including Provincial and Federal authorities. Phase 1 of IFNs was successfully completed resulting in more than 10,000 voluntary and 1193 Forced repatriation of IFNs.
