Terrorism bid foiled; three terrorists arrested

HANGU: The district police Wednesday foiled a terrorism bid arresting three terrorists and recovering huge caches of arms and Afghani currency notes.

District Police Officer (DPO) Asif Gohar told media here that the police acting on a tip-off raided a house in Malikabad area here and arrested three terrorists identified as Iftikhar s/o Murad Ali, Noshad Ali s/o Irshad Ali, Shaukat Ali s/o Murad Ali residents of Hangu.

The police team headed by DSP Omar Hayat Khan and SHO Police Station City Shah Duran recovered huge cache of arms buried in the courtyard of the house including 1 Rocket Launcher, 28 mortars, 3 shells for mortars, 3 boosters and 34 fuses for mortars, 1 AK- 47, two pistols and Afghan currency worth PKR 16.3 million.
