Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production met on Tuesday to discuss the bill titled "Airports Security Force (Amendment) Bill 2012." Senator Colonel Syed Tahir Mashhadi (retd) presided over the meeting. Members of the Committee, Senator Farhatullah Babar, Senator Raja Zafarul Haq and Senator Sehar Kamran were also present in the meeting.
The Committee expressed concerns over the absence of senior officials of ministry of Defence and Defence Production and postponed it. It may be mentioned here that the bill was moved by Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Minister of State for Defence in the Senate on October 11, 2012 and referred to the Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production.
