LAHORE: The local cotton market maintained a downward trend on Thursday as trading volumes stayed subdued. Speaking to Business Recorder, Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman attributed the bearish sentiment to increased demand for imported cotton.
He added that cotton prices in Sindh currently range between Rs 16,000 and Rs 17,200 per maund depending on quality, while Punjab’s rates hover between Rs 16,500 and Rs 17,500 per maund. Meanwhile, the spot rate remained unchanged at Rs 16,800 per maund, with polyester fiber trading at Rs 346 per kilogram.
