Soon after inaugurating IDEAS-2012, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf visited pavilions established by Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS). He appreciated the overall contribution of GIDS in enhancing the defence capabilities of Pakistan and other countries in the region. He also showed keen interest in products being displayed by the constituent companies of GIDS.
GIDS Chief Executive Officer Air Vice-Marshal Zubair Iqbal Malik (Retd) briefed the prime minister about the contribution being made by this organisation. The Air Vice-Marshal ushered the prime minister and showed different sections of pavilion set up by Advance Engineering Research Organisation; Integrated Defence Systems; Marine Systems, Xpert Engineering Services; Institute of Industrial Control Systems; Al-Technique Corporation of Pakistan and Scientific Engineering and Technology Services.
Commenting on the display, the prime minister said: "I am impressed and would like to applaud GIDS contribution. The hallmark of this group providing support and services for current and future defence must be appreciated." GIDS is a corporate set up established for the export and marketing of military, industrial and technological products and services. It provides support and services solution of current and future needs of Pakistan. GIDS companies invest heavily in R&D to maintain its leadership.-PR
