Taiwan stocks ended were 0.35 percent lower on Monday, but smartphone maker HTC jumped 6.8 percent to reach its upper limit after agreeing a settlement of patent issues with Apple Inc. The main TAIEX index fell 25.47 points to 7,267.75, after opening 0.15 percent higher.
Hon Hai and Compal dropped 1.53 percent and 3.39 percent respectively, both after reporting a fall in October sales. The Taiwan dollar was up by T$0.150 to trade at T$29.000.
