The Karachi Port handled 119,582 tonnes of cargo comprising 79,138 tonnes of import cargo and 40,444 tonnes of export cargo including 4,380 loaded & empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 79,138 tonnes comprised 36,829 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,435 tonnes of general cargo; and 13,874 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,000 tonnes of coal; 4,374 tonnes of DAP; 5,500 tonnes of coke and 18,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 40,444 tonnes comprised 27,944 tonnes of containerised cargo and 12,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,380 containers comprising 2,272 containers import and 2,108 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 1,172 of 20's and 527 of 40's loaded while 26 of 20's and 10 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 874 of 20's and 316 of 40's loaded containers while 140 of 20's and 231 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Three ships namely YM North, MOL Dignity and Amber Alena with two container ships and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Jolly, MOL Dignity, Andromeda, Canarise Princess, Torm Anne and Amber Alena with two container ships, two bulk cargo ships, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Jolly and Torm Anne with one container ship and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while three ships namely Hyundai Bangkok, Canarise Princess MT Quetta carrying one container ship, one bulk cargo ship and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four vessels viz Madura, Ozay-5, Nyack Princess and Nadeem with one container ship, one chemicals carrier, one urea ship and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday, while six vessels viz APL Brisbane, Naxihe, Aysan, UASC Shuwaikh, Pacific Green and Azerbaijan with four container ships, one steel coils ship and one crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 58,712 tonnes comprising 47,926 tonnes of import cargo and 10,786 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 690 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 47,926 tonnes includes 35,029 tonnes of crude oil; 5,400 tonnes of edible oil and 7,497 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 10,786 tonnes includes 1,720 tonnes of cement; 1,439 tonnes of rice; 634 tonnes of wheat and 6,993 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Wyoming, MV DN Vatan and MV Beagle-III with containers, cement and wheat respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely MT Cypruss Galaxy and MV Phu Tia-19 with edible oil and rice are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz CV Maersk Wyoming, MV Beagle-III, MV Phu Tia-19, MV DN Vatan, MV Leopard-B, MT Cypruss Galaxy and MT Arietis are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, rice, cement, edible oil and crude oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely Cos Glory, Al-Noor-II, Argent Gerbera, Nasico Eagle and Lady Elena with canola seeds, diesel oil, edible oil, cement and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Four vessels viz MV Cos Glory, MT Argent Gerbera, Nasico Eagle and Lady Elena with canola seeds, edible oil, cement and chemicals are expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1), Liquid Cargo Terminal, Grains & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.
