Arrangements for the second two-day World Hindko Conference being held on November 17 and 18 have been finalised as billboards regarding the event have also been installed at all prominent junctions of the city. The conference under the auspices of Gandhara Hindko Board (GHB) will be held in the Archives Library Auditorium with Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar as the chief guest in the inaugural and Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti in the concluding ceremony.
During the two-day conference, they said research experts from different countries included Britain, United States, Turkey, India, Iran, Afghanistan, Italy, Canada and other countries will read their research papers. All research papers will be of international standard. Similarly, prominent personalities from different parts of the country have also been invited to attend the event.
According to Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, Member Executive, Gandhara Hindko Board on the inaugural day, a total of five sessions will be held, which will be followed by four sessions on the second day. A total of 42 research papers will be read out in the conference while about 10 will be in the shape of poster presentations.
The presentations will be on a variety of topics on both Peshawar and international issues to promote solidarity amongst different regional languages of the country and province. Five different awards would also be given away during the conference. One of them has been named after Chacha Yunas, which will be accorded on the basis of services for Peshawar and Peshawarites. The award to be introduced in the conference will be given annually in future.
