Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Wednesday expressed the confidence that all the government institutions would work harmoniously to ensure continuity of the system and strengthening of democracy in the country. He was talking to Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Farooq Naek who called on him here at the Prime Minister's Secretariat to apprise him of the Supreme Court's proceedings in the NRO implementation court case.
Farooq Naek informed the Prime Minister that the Supreme Court had dropped charges of contempt against the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the NRO implementation. The Prime Minister hailed the decision of the Supreme Court as "victory of justice". The Prime Minister praised the services of the Law Minister and his team for bringing in a successful closure to this long standing issue to the satisfaction of all concerned.
Appreciating the professional acumen, competence and deft handling of the case by the Minister for Law, the Prime Minister observed that closure of the NRO implementation case has silenced those who propagated clash of institutions. The successful closure of the NRO implementation case will remove uncertainty and help create a conducive atmosphere during transition and facilitate smooth transfer of power by conducting free and impartial elections in the country, he observed. The Prime Minister said that his government had fulfilled its commitment to abide by the decisions of the court in letter and in spirit.
