The Karachi Port handled 76,598 tonnes of cargo comprising 54,998 tonnes of import cargo and 21,600 tonnes of export cargo including 3,420 loaded & empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 54,998 tonnes comprised 15,142 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,501 tonnes of bulk cargo; 18,000 tonnes of coal; 9,839 tonnes of DAP; 1,316 tonnes of oil cake meals and 8,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,600 tonnes comprised 15,322 tonnes of containerised cargo; 82 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 711 tonnes of cement cargo; 4,125 tonnes of talcum powder and 1,360 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,420 containers comprising 1,291 import containers and 2,129 export containers were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The brake up of imported containers shows 341 of 20's and 330 of 40's loaded while 0 of 20's and 145 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 405 of 20's and 251 of 40's loaded containers while 0 of 20's and 611 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are nine ships namely Salis; STX Patriakos; Prisco Ekatarina; Canarise Princess; Dlace; Madura; Mandarin Noble; APL Brisbane and OEL Trust with two container ships, one oil tanker, one bulk cargo ship, one oil tanker, one container ship, one bulk cargo ship and two container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There are seven vessels viz Pacific Green, APL Brisbane, BSLE Teresa, OEL Trust, Ozay 5, Naxihe and Alpine Mangolia with one general cargo ship, one container shop, one general cargo ship, one container ship, one oil tanker, one container ship and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. There are five ships namely Ozay 5, Andromeda, Naxihe, Ioanna D and UASC Shuwaikh sailed out to sea on Thursday, while three more ships namely Kota Gembira, New Horizon and Alpine Mangolia are expected to sail on Friday.
There are three vessels viz TS Pusan, OOCL Dalian and Aysan with three container ships respectively are due to arrive on Friday, while there are three more vessels viz Ocean Star, Cape Flores and Wan Hai 605 with one base oil tanker and two container ships respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 75,063 tonnes comprising 62,873 tonnes of import cargo and 12,190 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 952 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) were handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 62,873 tonnes includes 9,700 tonnes of edible oil; 30,384 tonnes of crude diesel oil; 8,323 tonnes of chemical; 256 tonnes of project cargo; 3,332 tonnes of canola seeds and 10,878 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 12,190 tonnes includes 3,076 tonnes of cement cargo and 9,114 tonnes of containerised cargo. There are four vessels namely CV CGM Chopin, Fuji Galaxy, Nasico Eagle and Al-Soor-II with container ships, edible oil tankers, cement cargo ships and crude diesel oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV CGM Chopin, MV Nasico Eagle, MV Leopard-B, MV Al-Soor-II, MV Cos Glory, MT Harsanadi, MT Rosario and Fuji Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, canola seeds, chemical, project cargo, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as four ships namely Olympic Spirit-II, Chemroad Quest, Saigon Express and City of Beijing with furnace oil tankers, edible oil tankers and containerised cargo respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are four vessels viz Saigon Express, City of Beijing, Chem Road Quest and Plympic Spirit-II with containerised cargo, edible oil tankers and furnace oil tankers are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Liquid Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
