Keeping in view security threats during 9th and 10th Muharram, mobile service will remain suspend in most sensitive districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to sources the suspension of cellular service was taken by Federal government on recommendation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department.
Preliminarily, the resources said KP government had asked for suspension of mobile service in district Kohat, but after declaring five districts more sensitive during the Ashura, decided that the cellular service will remain suspend in all six sensitive districts, including Kohat, Hangu, D.I.Khan, Manshera, Haripur and Peshawar. After the decision, the service will not available from 6am of 9th Muharram till 11pm of Muharram 10th.
An official of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department said that the decision has been taken to avoid any untoward incident during Ashura and to ensure full protection to mourners' processions. He said that police and law enforcencemnt agencies had been taken a appropriate steps in this regard.
The details availed with police department stated that only 10,343 personnel of law enforcement agencies would be deployed in district Peshawar on 9th and 10th Muharram. Besides, the personnel's of Frontier Reserve Police, Elite Force, Frontier Constabulary, special police force and ex-servicemen also assigned duties on the Ashura for maintenance of law and order.
Similarly, a total of 1,967 personnel of different law enforcement agencies have been deployed in Hangu, 4,297 in DI Khan, 1,194 in Tank, 1,684 in Mansehra, 3,789 in Bannu, 2,165 in Kohat and 1,052 in Haripur respectively. According to details, 122 processions will be taken out from 65 imambargahs in Peshawar, 138 from 64 imambargahs in D.I. Khan, 15 from 24 imambargahs in Hangu, 38 from 19 imambargahs in Haripur, 23 from nine imambargahs in Tank and eight from 43 imambargahs in Kohat. Apart from, 377 Muharram processions would be taken out from 243 imambargahs in the province.
