The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday hearing of a petition filed by former president of Bank of Punjab (BoP), Hamesh Khan, till December 03 and directed his counsel to submit further arguments and documentary evidence to establish the allegations of being biased against the presiding officer of the accountability court.
Khan through his counsel alleged that the judge of the accountability court, Nisar Baig, was not holding proceedings in the case as per the law and appeared to have become biased against the petitioner. The counsel said the accused had no hope of justice from the judge, therefore, the case should be transferred to any other judge of the accountability courts to fulfil the requisites of justice. Hamesh Khan and others are accused of sanctioning billions of rupees loans in violation of relevant rules.
